A STORY OF RESILIENCE AND RETURN

Meet Michael, a young man from Oloosinyat Community in Olkaria and a beneficiary of Entidai Initiative since 2015.

Michael grew up in a polygamous home with 14 siblings. Life wasn’t easy; resources were stretched thin, and education often took a back seat to herding and survival.

Against all odds, he pursued his education with determination, eventually earning a Diploma in Mass Communication. That achievement has become more than just a personal milestone, it has became a bridge back to his community. 🎓

Today, Michael uses his voice and his passion for film to capture and share the untold stories of resilience, hope, and transformation within pastoralist communities. Even more inspiring, he now mentors young learners in the same communities and schools he once sat, determined to show them that their dreams are valid.

Michael believes, “No pastoralist child should be left behind when it comes to access to education.”

His journey is proof that education doesn’t just change one life, it lights the way for many others.
